Crafts & Home

For years, my mother (who is a excellent seamstress) tirelessly tried to involve me in sewing projects, but I was stubborn and refused to do anything that needed dexterity or patience. She was also stubborn (a family trait?) and while I was forced into fittings for clothes, she always explained what she was doing as she ran up dresses, curtains and cushion covers (though I wasn’t wearing the curtains or cushion covers).

Recently I’ve been wanting to do some sewing of my own, so for Christmas 2010 TLM got me a sewing machine. Although I’ve only been sewing for 6 months, I’ve been learning by (reluctant and unwitting) osmosis since I can remember. My patience has not really improved much, but it’s getting better.
